FITMENT

After a steering wheel replacement, a fault code often occurs due to an improperly connected airbag or other components like the clock spring. To fix this, first, try a battery reset by disconnecting the negative terminal for at least 10 minutes. If that doesn't work, re-check all electrical connections to ensure they are fully seated, then use a compatible diagnostic scan tool to clear the fault codes. You may also need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor using the scan tool.

1.Perform a battery reset

Locate your car's 12V battery.

Disconnect the negative terminal. Some recommend covering the cable or connecting it to the chassis to prevent accidental contact.

Wait for at least 10 minutes. This can help clear stored codes.

Reconnect the negative terminal and check if the light has cleared.

2.Check and secure all connections

Safelydisconnect the battery again before working on electrical connections.

Double-checkthat the airbag connector and any other wiring harnesses are securely pluggedin and that no pins are bent or damaged.

Ensure the clock spring is correctly installed and aligned, especially if you didn't replace it. Some clock springs have a locking pin that must be removed after installation.

3.Reset codes with a diagnostic tool

If the light is still on after the battery reset, you will need a diagnostic scan tool to communicate with the vehicle's computer.

Connect the tool to the vehicle's OBD-II port.

Use the tool to read and then clear the fault codes related to the steering wheel and restraints system.

Some systems, particularly those with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), will
require you to recalibrate the steering angle sensor after clearing the codes. Follow the tool's instructions for this process, which often involves turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.

4. Buy our Remote Service

We do provide remote services for our clients, which you can find it from the
product catalog on our website. After you purchase this service, you need to prepare a laptop with a TeamViewer installed and a data cable connecting the computer to your vehicle’s OBD. When you are ready, please let us know your WhatsApp number via email steeringwheeltrader@gmail.com.
Our technicians will contact you through WHATSAPP for service

The buyer needs to do their own research on the fitment. We would be happy to help if you are not sure about that.

1. You can select your car model and year through our filter. But it doesn’t mean all the result shown in the search will apply to your car. You must make sure that the function modules and buttons on the steering wheel you purchase are the same as those in your original car. The steering wheels for the same model and year may have different configurations.
